German chamomile is often made into a tea, but with its apply, hay, meadow, sweet-straw, and pineapple scent it can also play an important role in the natural perfumer's organ through its essential oil, tincture, or absolute. It makes a wonderful addition to a perfume garden.
The scent of our German Chamomile is singular because of the rare confluence of three soils found on our property: black volcanic, red volcanic, and decomposing granite.
Plant in well-draining soil with full sun. Hardy to zone 5 outdoors (but I have grown it as a perennial successfully in zone 4b).
